Pre-Clinical Licensed Therapist (PCLT)

About Emonie

“I am committed to creating a therapeutic space that is affirming, culturally responsive, and grounded in understanding your unique lived experiences.”

My name is Emonie Robinson, and I am a Pre-Licensed Clinical Therapist (PCLT) deeply passionate about supporting clients within the BIPOC community and allies, with a special focus on mothers and caregivers. My goal is to walk alongside you on your healing journey by using mindful psychotherapy and holistic wellness practices that nurture the mind, body, and spirit.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and African American Studies and a Master’s in Social Welfare from UCLA, where I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Social Welfare. My research focuses on reproductive health equity, reflecting my dedication to advancing well-being and access to care in historically marginalized communities. My background also includes community-based research, advocacy, and resource mapping through my work with the Human Services Department of the City of Santa Monica, as well as providing guidance and emotional support to transitional-age youth (TAY) navigating life’s challenges.

In therapy, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Somatic, and Mindfulness-Based practices. I also incorporate yoga-informed and body movement therapies that encourage clients to reconnect with their physical selves as part of the healing process (per client request). Together, we can explore concerns such as anxiety, depression, overwhelm, low mood, difficulty expressing needs, relationship challenges, and major life transitions.

As a Black woman I understand the challenges that are experienced by the BIPOC community, and I am committed to creating a therapeutic space that is affirming, culturally responsive, and grounded in understanding your unique lived experiences. I recognize how vital it is to feel truly seen and heard, especially when navigating systems that may overlook or minimize the stories of individuals who identify with being in marginalized communities.

I believe that our identities (race, gender, sexuality, or culture) are central to how we understand ourselves. Clients can expect an empowering experience where we can utilize talk therapy, as well as creative arts, mindfulness, and body awareness exercises to help strengthen resilience, balance, deeper understanding, and promote healing.

If you’re ready to begin your journey toward healing and self-discovery, I would be honored to support you along the way.
