“I became a therapist because I believe everyone deserves a space where they can show up exactly as they are — no explanations, no parts left behind.”— Ariel Powell, LCSW
My commitment to this work is personal.
As a member of the BIPOC community, I know how hard it can be to find a therapist who truly understands the fullness of your experience — the nuance of navigating multiple identities, the exhaustion of code-switching, and the strength it takes to just keep showing up.
Early in my career, I created mindfulness programs for students of color, an experience that shaped my belief in therapy that honors identity rather than pathologizes it. Since then, I've worked in community and school-based settings, deepening my understanding of the unique challenges faced by underrepresented groups.
I'm here to offer the kind of space I wished existed sooner: one where your whole self is welcome.

I am passionate about working with individuals who often feel overlooked in traditional mental health spaces.
You Might Be Struggling With
You don't have to have it all figured out. Clients often come to me experiencing:
Healing happens when we feel truly seen
I approach therapy with an anti-oppressive lens, honoring how race, gender, sexuality, spirituality, and culture shape your lived experience. Together we'll use your unique strengths to guide the healing journey.
People who have worked with me have said...
"This is helping me feel better already. It helps to have a place to actually say things out loud that I don't want to share with anyone else."
— K.C."I realize that I haven't been communicating as well as I thought — I was just talking at people. Therapy has helped me learn how to ask questions and listen, even when I disagree."
— M.B.
A Little About Me
Outside the therapy room, I find joy in the everyday — these passions keep me grounded and fuel my creativity in the work I do.
My Mission
I am a devoted advocate for increasing access to mental health care for marginalized communities. My aim is to create a space where you feel encouraged to show up as your most authentic self.
